I carry America's faith and honor
against her enemies.
I am the Queen of Battle.
I am what my country expects me to be...
the best trained solider in the world.

If necessary, I will fight to my death.
By my steadfast courage,
I have won 200 years of freedom.
I yield not to weakness,
to hunger,

to fatigue,
to superior odds,
for I am mentally tough, physically strong,
and morally straight.
I forsake not...
my country,
my mission
my comrades,
my sacred duty.
I am relentless.
I am always there,
now and forever.

| Alright, good! now that i have some of you thinking, i will clarify what i mean. Everything we do (and i mean EVERYTHING) we do for a reason, right?! that reason being that we anticipate some end result which we deem to be worth the sacrifice we have made. for example you decide to watch TV (which most of us do), you have decided that the effort of flipping on the TV and staying awake is worth the end result...thus watching TV for that time is the "good life." Understand?! My goal in this post is to ask you to consider more than just the sacrifice you make, but what you sacrifice to make it...basically, is what I choose to do with my time truly bringing me the "good life"?? How about this? Is TV (just for an example) really going to bring me the good life? it might, i don't know. the situation depends. my desire for my own life is this: that I, Pfc Philip Nixon, would be deliberate in everything I do. Judging that what I use my time for would be worth the sacrifice of the things i could otherwise do. Otherwise i am afraid that one day i will be laid bare before Almighty God and He will ask me why i wasted the life He gave me. So then I must again ask myself as well as all of you, What is your "good life"? and how do you find it?

| So here is the question every person in history has asked...and i ask you now: What is the good life?! And how do you find it?!

| hey yall...so i'm now in bamhaulder germany stationed with 2/6 infantry of the 1st Armored Division! its good times here! i'm 30 minutes from France and 4 hours from Berlin (and about 4 hours from anywhere in europe you might wish to go!) please pray that i can continue to spread the light of Christ to my fellow soldiers here! also i'm getting married in July or August (as the Lord provides leave time) so please be praying for that as well! love all yall! | | |
| hey guys well, infantry training is almost done for me!! the last 12 weeks have been some of the most difficult yet most rewarding of my life!! I graduate Dec. 13 and will be home Dec 16!! can't wait to see yall!! God bless!! | | |
| hey guys alright, i'm at ft. benning currently and in my 3rd week of training. currently we are still under "total control" by the drill sergeants. that makes life tough to say the least. most of us (including me) think we know what pain is, what pressure/stress is...until you've been through bct you have no earthly idea. everything that goes on in our lives for the last 3 weeks has been under the drill sergeants control. Everything has to be done at top speed or we pay dearly...also imagine have NO contact with the outside world with the exception of snail mail. its hard but good. One thing i've learned to this point is that really and truly the only stability I have to keep me going is the strength of the Lord!! He has been so good to me!!! He truly is the rock!! I've gotten a couple of chances to witness because of His strength...guys in my platoon come to me and ask, "how can you be so calm during all this?" keep strong with the Lord!! To family and friends, i miss all yall dearly! can't wait to see you again. please write as much as the postal service will let you!!! mail call is the best part of the day!!! To my Angel, words cannot describe how much i miss you!! Every day seems like a lifetime, but each day brings me closer to seeing you again!! i love you with all my heart!!! | | |
